Craft Tables for Children

Craft Tables for Children

A craft table gives a child a place of his own to create both art and craft projects. The ideal craft table is the right size and is stocked with plenty of inspiring and age-appropriate supplies. Add a comfortable chair, a trash can, and a place to display finished works and your child will be able to create a project whenever inspiration hits.

Table Setup

Choose a table that is kid-sized, and make it a dedicated spot for crafting. Add a chair that is at the right height for the table, and position the table in a space with good lighting. Use a throw rug or drop cloth underneath to protect your floor from paint, markers and glue.

Table Supplies

Equip the table with supplies that your child can use on her own. Place colorful mugs or containers on the table to hold crayons, markers and pencils, and have a box for scissors, tape and glue sticks. Use a paper holder from the office or scrapbook supply store to hold colorful construction paper and sheets of stickers and embellishments. Have everything in one place so your child can concentrate on crafting, not looking for lost items.
