How to Decorate Around a Huge Toy Train Table

How to Decorate Around a Huge Toy Train Table

Toy train tables are used to showcase trains in various settings. You will often find toy trains running through countrysides and town scenes on the table. While folks usually have no problem decorating the actual table, decorating around it can be a bit of a challenge. Fortunately, a variety of decorating options are available. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Place large potted plants, such as holly trees or poinsettias around the table, if decorating the train table for the Christmas holiday. Since trains are an iconic symbol of Christmas, some folks feature train tables as part of their Christmas dcor. Place the plants and the gifts in front of and around the table. If possible or desired, place the plants and gifts on the table, as well, to create a flow for the theme.

    2

Place large pictures of real trains on the floor against the table legs and in front of the table. Keeping the train theme running from the table to the floor will give viewers real life trains to look at so they can possibly compare the toy trains with those that are real. Doing so will also incorporate the train theme from the table to the floor.

    3

Place train memorabilia around the table. For instance, old railroad signs, crossing signals and lanterns propped up against and placed out in front can help to enhance the theme and add nostalgia as well.

    4

Showcase train-related books around the table. Prop the books against the legs so that the covers of the books are seen. Stack them with the titles facing outwards, as well, to add a bit of variation among the decorations. If children will view the table, be sure to include train books geared for their age.
